The short version. Ryfa Network ("Ryfa", "we") is a networking app run by Powered Up Web LLC in Clearwater, Florida. We collect what you put on your card and what you do in Ryfa so the app can work. We don't sell your information, we don't run ads, and we don't use advertising trackers. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
What we collect
Things you give us
- Account: your email address. We sign you in with a one-time link sent to that address — there's no password.
- Your card: name, industry, tagline, phone number, email address, how you prefer to be contacted, website, photo and intro video — whatever you choose to add. The email on your card is separate from the one you sign in with, which is never shown on your card.
- Groups and teams: groups you create or join, and details organizers add, like meeting times, video links and meeting addresses.
- Chat messages you send in group and team chats, and private messages you send to your connections.
- Settings: your notification choices.
- Waitlist: your email, if you joined our waitlist before signing up.
- Payments: Ryfa Pro payments are handled by Stripe (on the web), or by Apple or Google (in our mobile apps). We never see or store your full card number — we keep your plan status and a customer reference from the payment provider.
Things we record as you use Ryfa
- Connections: who you connect with, when, and how — by scanning a QR code, through a shared link, or through a group.
- Approximate city for in-person connections: when someone scans your QR code and connects, we save the approximate city of their internet connection (for example "Orlando, FL") so both of you can remember where you met. This comes from our network provider and is often only as precise as a nearby city. We never collect GPS or exact location.
- Card views: when someone opens your card, we count the view and note how they got there (your QR code, your shared link, a group, or elsewhere). We keep a scrambled (hashed) visitor code instead of their IP address, and for signed-in members, which account it was. You see how many views you get; we don't show you who viewed your card. View records are kept for about 13 months.
- Reports and blocks: when you report a card, group or message (including a private message), we save who reported it, the reason, anything you added, and a copy of what was reported (so we can still review it if it's changed or deleted). The person you report isn't told who reported them. When you block someone, we save that you blocked them so we can keep you apart, along with a copy of what you were looking at when you blocked them (the message or card). Our team is alerted and sees this so we can check for abuse. The person you block isn't told.
- Camera and Photos in our app: the app's Scan button uses your phone's camera only while the scanner is open, to read a QR code. The camera image stays on your phone — we only see the link in the code when it opens a Ryfa page. Save image adds your QR code to your Photos only when you choose it; the app can't see your photo library.
- Sign-in and security data: when you request a sign-in code we store a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address and your browser type to help stop abuse. We store sign-in codes only in scrambled form, and count wrong tries to stop guessing.
- Technical logs: like any website, our servers and network provider process IP addresses and basic request information to deliver pages and protect against attacks.
- Cookies: two cookies that keep you signed in — one for your current visit, and one that keeps you signed in on that device for up to 180 days after you last used Ryfa (until you sign out). No advertising or analytics cookies.
How we use it
- To run Ryfa: show your card, run groups, teams and chats, and keep your network up to date.
- To send email you need: sign-in codes, confirmations, and notifications you've turned on in Settings.
- To send occasional Ryfa news, which you can turn off in Settings at any time.
- To keep Ryfa safe: prevent spam, abuse and fraud, filter slurs and explicit language, review reports, and enforce our Terms.
- To answer you when you contact us, and to improve how Ryfa works.
- To handle Ryfa Pro billing.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.
Who can see what
- Your card is shareable. Anyone who has your card link or scans your QR code can see what's on it — name, photo, industry, tagline, phone number, email address, website and intro video — and save it as a contact. Only put on your card what you're happy to share. Cards aren't listed in search engines.
- You can keep your contact details private. In Edit card, choose "Only your connections": people who aren't connected with you then see only your name, photo, industry and tagline and can ask to connect. Your phone number, email address, website and intro video show to your connections, and to anyone you give your own share link or QR code.
- Group and team members can see the member list (names, photos, industries and card links), meeting details, and the group's chat.
- Networking groups are visible to people who aren't members. Anyone who opens a group's page can see its name, description, organizer, schedule, industries and member count. On the Board, signed-in members also see a few small member photos, without names. Meeting links, addresses and the member list stay members-only, and teams are never shown on the Board.
- Your connections see the same "how you met" details you do (for example "Met in Orlando, FL · Oct 14").
- Private messages are only between you and the connection you're talking to — only people you're connected with can message you. Ryfa's team doesn't read them; if one of you reports a message, our team sees a copy of that message to review it. If either of you blocks the other, the conversation disappears for both of you.
- People you block can't open your card or connect with you, and you can't open theirs. Ryfa's small team can see reported content, blocks, and accounts, to review reports and check for abuse.
Service providers
We use a small number of companies to run Ryfa. They process data on our behalf and only for that purpose:
- Hostinger — the servers Ryfa runs on.
- Cloudflare — delivers the site securely and quickly, protects against attacks, and provides the approximate city used for in-person connections.
- Amazon Web Services — stores and delivers photos and intro videos.
- Brevo — sends our emails.
- Google — serves the fonts on some of our pages, stores our waitlist spreadsheet, and, if you add your card to Google Wallet, stores that pass (your name, photo, industry, contact details and card link).
- Stripe, Apple and Google — process Ryfa Pro payments.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of the business (in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information).
Our servers and providers are based in the United States, so your information is stored and processed there.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. When you do:
- your card, photo, intro video, connections and your card's view records are deleted, and your card link stops working;
- you're removed from your groups, and groups and the team you run are deleted;
- the text of your chat messages is erased, and your private conversations are deleted (for the people you were talking to, too);
- your email address is removed, so you can sign up again later as a new account;
- your blocks, and other people's blocks of you, are removed.
Reports — ones you made and ones about you, including the copy of what was reported — are kept as a safety record, so we can spot repeated abuse.
We keep a minimal record that an account existed and was deleted. Copies can remain in backups and logs for a limited time before they're overwritten. If you joined the waitlist and want that email removed too, write to us.
Your choices
- See and change your information: edit your card and settings at any time.
- Block and unblock: see and undo your blocks in Settings → Blocked people.
- Email: turn notification emails and Ryfa news on or off in Settings. Sign-in and security emails are always sent because the app needs them.
- Delete: delete your account in Settings.
- Get a copy: email us and we'll send you a copy of your information.
Depending on where you live, you may have more privacy rights. Contact us and we'll help. We won't treat you differently for using them.
Age
Ryfa is for adults using it for business networking. You must be 18 or older to use it, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Security
Ryfa uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), sign-in codes and links that expire after 15 minutes and work only once (a code stops working after 5 wrong tries), and limited access to our systems. No service can promise perfect security, so please tell us right away if you notice anything wrong with your account.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
